This year Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd held its very first Macillian Coffee Morning, in fact we love Coffee and Cake so much we held two! On Friday the 11th and 25th September some members of the team brought in cakes, other members ate the cakes and all in all we managed to raise almost £300.00!
But why do we need to hold these Coffee Mornings? The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, last year they managed to raise £25 million and this year they are aiming even higher. I tried to find the words to explain what they do but I think Macillian say it best themselves;
“There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. By 2030, it will be 4 million people, and we want to be there for them all. One in three of us will get cancer, and it will be one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to face. Our goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone. We provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. And because cancer affects more than just those facing it, we’re there for friends and family too. We are Macmillan.”
Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd is proud to help Macmillan towards its goals and hope to be able to do our part in the future.
A special thank you to Hazel for arranging the Macmillan Coffee Morning and to Bryce & Gemma for going around with the cakes to our Chiltern Enterprise neighbours to help us raise even more for Macmillan!
