Plant Room Heating Upgrade

Improving Reliability, Efficiency, and Comfort for 72 Homes

This project shows how the communal heating system at Baker House was transformed from an outdated, unreliable plantroom into a modern, efficient installation serving 72 homes. The existing boilers were failing regularly, causing disruption and high maintenance costs. A full upgrade was required, but the works had to be carried out with minimal impact on residents, who relied on continuous heating and hot water.

Our team installed a temporary plantroom to ensure uninterrupted service while we removed the old cast iron boilers and pipework. We then fitted 10 high-efficiency condensing boilers, inverter-driven pumps, and a bespoke flue system, all fully integrated into a new Trend BMS with automatic safety shut-offs. Pipework was replaced and insulated, exterior runs were colour-coded, and corroded galvanised pipes were replaced within apartments to protect long-term water quality.

The result was a safe, efficient, and future-ready heating system that reduced breakdowns, lowered running costs, and improved resident comfort. Every stage was carefully planned and documented, from asbestos management to final commissioning, providing the client with an audit-ready compliance pack and long-term confidence in system performance.

Damp and Mould Remedials

From Decanted Property to Tenant-Ready

This project shows how a decanted, uninhabitable property was brought back to a safe, compliant standard under Awaab’s Law. A property in Salisbury was fully decanted after damp and mould left it unsafe for tenants. Years of reactive-only maintenance had resulted in widespread structural damage, failing flooring, and extensive mould contamination.

The scope of works required went far beyond a simple clean-up. Our team removed flooring and carpets to access and repair subfloors, replaced plasterboard and insulation, and carried out a full mould wash and redecoration programme. At the same time, we upgraded electrics, installed new radiators, and replaced the property’s front door for security.

Every stage was documented with before-and-after evidence, providing the client with an audit-ready compliance pack in line with Awaab’s Law.

The result was a safe, compliant, and tenant-ready home, with preventative measures in place to reduce the risk of recurrence. By addressing the root causes instead of relying on reactive fixes, the client not only met compliance obligations but also reduced long-term maintenance costs.

Air Source Heat Pump Upgrade

From Outdated System to Efficient, Future-Ready Heating

As part of a housing provider’s energy-efficiency upgrade programme, an existing Mitsubishi Electric air source heat pump and vented hot-water cylinder were replaced at a property in Christchurch. The original system had become inefficient and costly to maintain, so a new, compliant, and fully optimised solution was required.

Our engineers installed a Vaillant aroTHERM Plus 3.5 kW air-source heat pump with a 150 L pre-plumbed cylinder, upgraded copper pipework, and smart controls via the Vaillant sensoCOMFORT system. Additional works included radiator replacements, improved insulation and containment, and full MCS-standard electrical certification.

The result was a quiet, efficient, and future-proof heating system that provides reliable comfort, lower running costs, and reduced carbon emissions. All works were delivered with minimal disruption, supported by full commissioning records and photographic documentation in Simpro.

Unitherm e.VEN EAHP Installation

Delivering Next-Generation Energy Efficiency through Exhaust Air Heat Pump Technology

This project involved replacing an outdated heating and ventilation unit with a new Unitherm e.VEN EAHP 5 kW system, providing residents with heating, hot water, ventilation, and heat recovery in one compact unit.

The existing unit had become unreliable and inefficient, requiring frequent maintenance. To improve performance and reduce running costs, our team removed the old system and installed the new e.VEN EAHP, carrying out full plumbing and electrical alterations, ducting modifications, and insulation improvements. Room and outdoor sensors were installed, and airflow was balanced to meet building regulations.

During installation, disconnected loft ductwork was identified, which would have reduced efficiency. Our engineers reinstated and sealed the ducting to ensure the system delivered its full performance potential.

The result was a fully commissioned system backed by a 7-year manufacturer’s warranty. Residents now benefit from reliable heating, hot water, and ventilation, while the client gains long-term energy savings, compliance assurance, and a reduced carbon footprint.

Nibe Upgrade Project

Improving Energy Efficiency and Resident Comfort Through Exhaust Air Heat Pump Technology

This project shows how outdated Nibe units were replaced with modern Nibe F730 systems, providing residents with efficient heating, ventilation, and hot water.

The older units required frequent repairs, leading to high costs and poor performance. To ensure long-term reliability, our client commissioned a large-scale replacement programme, beginning with a successful pilot installation that led to over 150 units being scheduled for upgrade across multiple sites.

Our team isolated and removed the old systems, adjusted plumbing and electrics, and installed new Nibe F730 units. Works included ducting modifications, air balancing, and insulation improvements, with tenant orientation provided at handover. Temporary heaters were used where required to protect resident comfort during installation.

The result was a more efficient, reliable, and sustainable heating and ventilation solution. Residents benefited from improved comfort and reduced energy bills, while the client gained long-term cost savings, compliance assurance, and reduced carbon footprint.
